Finance & markets
About
I’m Rishav Sen, based in Irvine, California. I’m drawn to problems where careful statistics and machine learning can tell you something true about a messy system, such as markets, biology, or economies.
My toolkit is Python, SQL, and R, with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and LightGBM for modeling. I’m most comfortable with time-series and factor methods, transformer and convolutional architectures, and with the checks that keep a result honest: ablation tests, baseline comparisons, point-in-time backtesting, and calibrated uncertainty. I also build with AI agents and run open models locally.
Away from development, I read widely in economics, sociology, and ecology. I follow semiconductors and AI infrastructure closely, and I’m a CFA Level 1 candidate.
I am aiming for quantitative research, data science, or ML/AI roles.
